ReVanced was born after the Vanced YouTube mod was officially discontinued. Vanced was already a YouTube mod offering features like ad-free viewing and background playback. However, Vanced had a tedious installation process. Revanced simplified this process by patching the existing YouTube build (sourced from APKMirror), adding the mod features, and integrating new functionalities. This overall approach greatly improves the user experience on Android, making it easier for users to stay on the modified experience rather than reverting to the official Google YouTube app.
It is recommended not to install Vanced from unofficial sources, as the official app is no longer maintained and there are plenty of counterfeits available.
Steps to Install ReVanced
To install YouTube Vanced on your Android phone, you must first enable third-party app installation. Once that is done, you are ready to go.
We are going to download the Revanced Manager, not the Revanced YouTube patches, and then we will get the mod APK.
- Vist the https://revanced.app, the official website to download the ReVanced Manager.
- Once installed, open the app and select YouTube.
- It will ask you to select or download the YouTube APK in order to patch it.
- Select the APK mirror and download the file from there if you do not have it on your storage.
- After the download is complete, it will take you back to the Revanced Manager, where it will try to patch it.
- Once done, it will ask you to install the APK.
Even though the patched APK is installed, Vanced YouTube will not work immediately. We also need to install GSMCore, which is ReVanced's fork of the MicroG project, to support the patched APK login and make it functional.
- Install the https://gmscore.app & login with you google account.
- After that, restart the YouTube ReVanced patched APK.
- Congratulations, you have successfully patched YouTube.
Note: Do not install ReVanced by searching on Google. Use only the provided links, as there are fake apps available.
